"How's your fish thing going?"
"You're still Presbyterian, right?"
Say it with me-
Pes-kah-TEAR-eeyan.
No seriously, it is. Not only have I not cheated (although there were some close calls when I wasn't paying attention) but I have noticed an improvement in my health. I drink more water, I exercise more regularly, and I have more energy at the beginning and end of my day. A friend of mine also pointed out that my skin seemed clearer and smoother. So...I don't plan on going back to poultry or beef any time soon.
Do I ever miss it?
Hecks yeah. But usually only when I'm really hungry. Once I cook up my fish or shrimp, I'm not thinking about anybody's burger and fries.
And that's another thing. Because I am now the only person in my household who follows this eating habit, I am forced to cook almost everyday. I have discovered that I actually like cooking, and I'm good at it. Who knew? I get to experiment with new recipes all the time. And if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to cook, I can pop in some oh-so-not-nutritous Oodles of Noodles or some soup. Sometimes, I'll go for an old-fashioned PB&J or some hard-boiled eggs with toast.
Not only that, but two of my friends have mentioned that they want to try this thing out! I almost did a backflip. It's so empowering to see people taking charge of their health and embarking on a new journey. Makes me want to go even harder.
So if you ask me how my pesky thing is going, I'll tell you.
Pretty darn good. =)
Be Blessed!
